Apricity Press is an annual online publication of poetry, prose, short fiction, visual art, and dance works. Embodying the obsolete word it was named after, Apricity aims to manifest the feeling of the warmth of the sun in the winter in all that it publishes.
Established in 2015, Apricity Press was created to fill an immense void in the publishing world. While there are a myriad of presses, literary journals and magazines, many lack the ability to publish multi-genre works, especially dance works. Because of this, Apricity constructed a space where spectacular literary, art, and dance works could be published side by side, showcasing the tremendous inherent connections between the forms. Incredible work deserves to be seen. Review our submission guidelines and submit your work during our reading period! |
Interested in submitting your work to Apricity? Take a look at our most recent issue (and then all of our issues!) to get a feel for some of the types of work we're into.
No matter the genre, we look for work that's sure of itself, work that has its own presence. We don't conform to outdated notions of what art should and shouldn't be, and instead look for work that purposefully does whatever it wants to. Whether thats a traditional sonnet or an abstract dance film filmed upside down and backwards, if you're doing it on purpose we want to see it! All Apricity contributors will be considered during their issue year for nomination to The Pushcart Prize! Apricity can nominate up to six contributors for this prize and we submit our nominations for each issue around November every year.

We believe everyone everywhere should be able to access art, which is why we accept international artists and publish all of our issues online for free. To help extend our reach, we're proud to be a part of the rigorously curated EBSCO Humanities Collection and Database.
