an elegy to my failed revolution
alex legrys

I want to drink
dilapidation out of
tea-cups and let
the cracked bricks
sprinkle on my tongue

all the voices caked
in cigarette ash
would never bother
to serenade me
but I wish
they would

and the boys in pants
five sizes too
large never turn
their head--
but I’d unionize
that gas station
for them
